If you are looking for a community with a good public school system, then Pegram/Kingston Springs is the place for you.

From the Tennessean:

KINGSTON SPRINGS — Harpeth High was one of just four Tennessee schools to earn a blue ribbon this year.

The south Cheatham County school was the only one in the Nashville area, and the state’s only high school, to be named a Blue Ribbon School under the federal No Child Left Behind program.

“It’s such a great honor,” said Principal Jenny Simpkins, her eyes welling up with tears. “Our teachers and our students are the ones who made this possible.”

The Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors public and private K-12 schools that are academically superior in their states or demonstrate dramatic achievement gains. Harpeth placed in the top 10 in achievement scores three straight years.

“That is a remarkable accomplishment — to repeat for three years,” said Lynn Seifert, Cheatham County schools director. ” … Test scores indicate that the teachers stretch these kids to learn far beyond the basics.”

Congratulations to the students and faculty for this well deserved recognition.
